Enable America established operations in Raleigh, NC, in January, 2009. Throughout the year we have been working with local businesses, preparing for an expansion of services. One of our first initiatives was with Progress Energy, which Enable America assisted in developing the company’s Progress Inclusion and Disabilities Education employee program (PRIDE), an employee network group. In the summer of 2009, Progress Energy gave further support to Enable America by officially joining as the organization’s local partner.
A major part of that expansion is introduction of Enable America’s Disability Employee Mentoring Program. In addition to Progress Energy, a number of prominent Raleigh businesses have signed on to participate. They include The Royal Bank of Canada, Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina, Rex HealthCare, WakeMed, SAS, and the Carolina Hurricanes.
