A unique opportunity for students/adults with disabilities to spend a ½ day of hands-on career exploration, networking with company employees, and learning about internship/employment opportunities at the company. |
Why should I participate?
A Career Mentoring Day is a great opportunity to meet employees of successful companies and network with them. You will develop a point of contact or several points of contact at the company and can call on them regarding internships/jobs. At the mentoring day, you will have the chance to submit a resume and make a good impression. If an internship/job becomes available in the future, the company may decide to contact you. |
Who are the companies participating?
Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina, Carolina Hurricanes, Progress Energy, Rex Healthcare, SAS, and WakeMed. |
Do I need to have a specific background to participate?
No. The career mentoring day gives you an opportunity to explore the many career possibilities at these successful companies. Even so, you can mark a career preference on the online registration form. |
How much of a time commitment is involved?
The day generally begins around 8:00 AM with a light breakfast and ends after lunch around 1:00 PM. |
How do I get the most out of the day?
First, provide as much information as you can on the registration form. Then, be sure to send us your resume and any other materials regarding your employment interests or background. |
What are next steps?
After registering, we will let you know we have received your registration and will contact you at a later time to let you know which company we have matched you with. We will try and match you with the company of your choice. |
